It's time for DownTown Orlando to Shine!

Ok I know this is a little different and that not everybody lives in Orlando, Fl, but downtown just got a nice upgrade in the form of the Amyway Center! And it is about time; I mean New York has the Madison Square Garden, Boston has the Staples Center, Atlanta, the Georgia Dome. And now Orlando's time has come with the awesome new Amway Center. Even before it was finished, there was considerable buzz going around that the Amway Center was "a centerpiece, a showcase, a rallying point for the community", and Orlando's elected officials were praised as "smart civic leaders who get it." Many agreed, but some would argue that point.

"Some said it couldn't be done or shouldn't be done - but our community rallied and recognized that it would benefit Central Florida residents," said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. "The city saw the project as more than just bringing additional concerts and sporting events."

I had the honor of attending the tour and I must say the Amway Center is the new Pride of Orlando. I mean isn't it wonderful to have a new facility that has already begun to pay for itself?! "Before contruction was even completed, the NBA announced that the 2012 NBA All-Star Game would be played here," said City Commissioner Daisy W. Lynum. "The economic impact of that event alone could be as much as $100 million."

I have to say that as an avid event goer, the Amway Center is going to appease many alike with it's numerous "Amenities and Concessions." I'm not going to list everything, but to name a few they have Disney Atrium, Metro PCS, Fairwinds, Coors Light, Budweiser, Cold Stone, Papa Johns and more. To keep the kids happy; Stuff's Magic Castle is on the scene. It is a children's play area available whenever the doors of Amway Center are open to the public.

All I'm saying is that if you live in Orlando or you happen to pass through; the Venue on your Menu should be the awesome new Amway Center. Bring your "friends and loved ones and create shared memories that will last a lifetime."
