Disney Buys Lucasfilm, and Darth Vader Goes To Disney World!

It would seem that NFL players aren't the only ones who get to celebrate victories by going to Disney World; Dark Lords of the Sith apparently enjoy that luxury as well. In case you are behind the 8ball, you should know that Disney shook the entertainment industry to the core with the $4.05 billion purchase of Lucasfilm and it's subsidiaries. COOL.

It's not really new news to be found here, and you won't learn anything about the sale that you didn't know before. This is just a light-hearted, Disney promoting clip that you would typically see while riding a shuttle bus to a resort hotel destination. Enjoy it for what it is.

I do think that this purchase is going to mean good news for Star Wars fans. Disney has proven itself capable of absorbing popular brands with minimal homogenization. Just look at Marvel and Pixar for shining example. As a matter of fact; why don't you wait and see what comes of this before turning to Obi-Wan as your only hope?

Iron Man 3 trailer is officially here!

It's what you've been waiting for and it has enough to make you want more...Mandarin (with the Ten Rings of Power), Iron Patriot (not Norman Osborn), and Tony struggling with some inner demons. Don't know if they're a nod to "in a bottle" but as a trailer, first official trailer, I liked it. See for yourself.

Morrowind Overhaul 3.0 Is A Blast From The Past

Remember Morrowind? Yeah Morrowind; the third chapter in the popular Elder scrolls series remains one of the finest roleplaying experiences available, but boy has it aged. Fortunately, enterprising fans have stepped up to the plate. The newly released Morrowind Overhaul is a compilation of mods, programs and files that intend to drag the 10yr old roleplaying game into the future with a slew of upgrades. Designed by the good folks at Ornitocopter, it's a rare and beautiful thing. The sights and sounds of Morrowind's Tamriel have never been so amazing, now's the time to dig in, I mean you have to wait for The Elder Scrolls Online
to come up for air next year regardless

Here's what Morrowind looks like with Overhaul

The Overhaul project has been in development for at least 5 years, and the latest version cleans up a lot of bugs, adds new updates, and features an auto installer that should take a lot of the guesswork out of getting everything up and running. You'll need a fresh mod-free installation of Morrowind as well as Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansion packs. As a matter of fact; the Game Of The Year edition includes everything you need, and will only set you back $10 on Steam. I'll admit that the process is lengthy but straightforward. Case in point: download the 2GB file, unzip it's contents into your Morrowind directory and run the
"MO Installer" executable. If you got Morrowind by Steam, the game will be in the Steam folder, under steamapps/common/Morrowind.

There are an overwhelming amount of options to tweak, and the experience can be optimized for a range of hardware. It sounds technical, but the installer will walk you through the whole process, and offer any download links to any missing files or applications you may need. If you're playing on Steam you'll also need to disable Steam's graphical overlay-just right click on Morrowind in your Steam library, select "Properties," and uncheck "Enable Steam Community In-Game."

Overhaul is what you would call a polished love letter to a classic RPG, but it is far from perfect-you will run into the occasional, so be sure to save often. But if you're a fan of the Elder Scrolls series and feeling just a little bit nostalgic; you owe it to yourself to give Overhaul a shot.

Skyrim's Upcoming DLC May Feature Dragon Mounts And A Return To Morrowind.

Skyrim

Ok, ok we all have to admit that while Hearthfire was unique for DLC, it was still left something to be desired. And fans desire much, don't we?! Well the latest PC update files hints at just that, in Dragonborn (via OXM). This is just rumors so far, but the DLC pack promises to add a slew of new gameplay elements to the already stellar game. Most interesting is a new feature that allows players to (drum roll please) use dragons as mounts. Can I get a Hell Yeah?!

But wait there's more; the files also indicate that the upcoming quest content returns to the land of Morrowind. Dang! How long has it been?! I think that was The Elder Scroll 3There are apparently quest markers for familiar locations from the distant land, including Solstheim, Telvanni, Castle Karstaag, Raven Rock, and Miraak Temple. It also appears that some new armor types are being added to the game: Bonemold, Chitin, Nordin, and Stalhrim.

Now don't go out eating cheese doddles and all that just yet because this is all just unconfirmed rumors until Bethesda goes on the horn and confirms it all. But this all does come from the latest PC game update, so if you want to celebrate a little, I guess that's cool.

Best Buy Vs Amazon; Winner is You!

Best Buy Adding Used Game Kiosks In Select Locations

Best Buy has finally decided to take on the king of online retailers, Amazon.com, by matching their prices.
Starting this holiday season, Best Buy plans to win back the slew of customers that have turned to the internet for purchases according to the Wall Street Journal.

Word on the street is that Best Buy will even be offering free home delivery for items that are sold out in stores. It would seem that both of these changes are attempts to make sure customers don't "window shop" at Best Buy before going online to find them cheaper. The way I see it; I'm a big fan of Amazon... their customer service is second to none and it is comforting not having to pay taxes that would otherwise incur it physical retail store. Still, it is nice to see Best Buy stepping it up a notch. Let the games begin!

Vizio's Holiday Line-Up Is A Real Bargain!

Vizio TV: Holiday Line-Up Features 60-inch LED TV for $999

Vizio today announced its holiday lineup of televisions, and if you're in the market for a new set, you might want to be aware. The company's top-of-the-line E-series features edge-lit LED TVs, built in Wi-Fi built in and Vizio Internet Apps (Netflix, Vudu, Hulu, Amazon etc.) The 60-inch version is priced at $999, while the 70-inch goes for $1,999. They're on store shelves now, and I doubt you'll find too many TVs with these kinds of specs for that kind of money.
Vizio's "M-series" sets have been overhauled as well. The company is offering a 55-inch model for $949, and a 65-inch model that's $1,699 with 3D and $1,499 without. Vizio is also showing off a 58-inch CinemaWide "ultra widescreen" and more.
Here is a list of what they have so far...
  •  VIZIO 55" Class Razor LED™ Smart TV (M550VSE) – $949.99
  • VIZIO 60" Class Razor LED™ Smart TV (E601i-A3) – $999.99
  • VIZIO 65" Class Razor LED™ Smart TV (M650VSE) – $1,499.99
  • VIZIO 65" Class Razor LED™ Smart TV with Theater 3D (M3D651SV) – $1,699.99
  • VIZIO 70" Class Razor LED™ Smart TV (E701i-A3) – $1,999.99
  • VIZIO 58" 21:9 Cinemawide Class LED Smart TV with Theater 3 D (XVT3D580CM – $1,999)
Vizio seems to announce their lineup of lower-priced TVs earlier in the season than other manufacturers, so it will be interesting to compare how the "bigger" company's prices this year compare to Vizio's.

Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive?!

I have to admit that I was surprised at this one. But I am in no way mad or upset. And neither should you. Apparently; (and this could turn out to be only half the truth) Sega dropped the game and decided it would focus only on core franchises. If this is factual, it would bring rhyme to reason why Nintendo would ride in and save the game while also securing an exclusive title. Sounds like game to me.

Mean As Hell Is coming back!!!

Yeah I got lazy! I got caught up! I got jokes! But I didn't forget and I'm back to blogging and putting up reviews on games and movies. Who cares if you like it or not! It's like sex with Kobe Bryant; it's gonna happen.
